2000 Annual Meeting

Roanoke, VA

Preliminary Program

The Final Program is now available!

Welcome to Roanoke, Virginia

On behalf of Virginia's MAC members, I invite you to join us in "Reaching for the Stars!" at this year's annual meeting! The weather forecast looks good and the stars will be shining brightly as we gather in Roanoke, Virginia, the "Star City." Of course, I cannot predict the weather this far in advance, but I do know that this year's Program Committee has put together a stellar program!

We have made some meeting format changes in response to suggestions given on last year's meeting evaluations. The program will cover one and a half days instead of two, with a one-day hall of exhibitors on Thursday, the one full meeting day. Our program will end early Friday afternoon with a combined Chapter business meeting/luncheon. We hope this schedule will accommodate members facing a long drive home on Friday afternoon, or, for those staying for a Saturday class, provide some time to explore the beautiful Roanoke region!

Please join us this October in Roanoke, Virginia!

Jonathan Lord, MAC 2000 Program Committee Chair

The Local Arrangements Committee extends a warm invitation to you to participate in MAC 2000 in Roanoke, Virginia, at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center. As we move from one century to the next, Roanoke has something to offer everyone, whether looking forward to the future or backward to the past. History, fall color, scenic mountains and valleys, golf, boating, and much more are all available to you in Roanoke. Visit Roanoke's historic Market area and enjoy international cuisine, crafts, science, art, and more. All a short walk from the Hotel. Come visit us for fun, networking, education, and partytime. We look forward to seeing you in the "Star City of the South."

Hospitality Notes

MAC 2000 promises to be the most enjoyable meeting yet! Located in one of Virginia's most scenic cities, Roanoke, and just in time for Fall's vivid colors, MAC 2000 has much to offer with an exciting program and fun activities. The conference will kick off with a bang at the WELCOME RECEPTION, which takes place at Roanoke's Science Museum. In addition to the interesting exhibits, you'll be able to literally reach for the stars at the planetarium show. Afterwards, you'll be just seconds away from Roanoke's downtown area where a variety of unique shopping and restaurants are just waiting to be experienced. Most participants, however, will be satisfied to simply enjoy the conference hotel, the Hotel Roanoke, and its elegant atmosphere. Best known for delicious food, the Hotel Roanoke will be providing us with continuous breaks during our conference as well as whipping up a variety of wonderful dishes for our banquet. I really hope you will be able to join us for this one of a kind experience.

Elaine Banner, Hospitality Committee Chair
