Welcome Reception
Join your MAC colleagues for an unprecedented evening of true Southern hospitality at the historic North Carolina State Capitol Building. Feast on food and spirits, provided by Barbara Boney Caters, purveyor of world-class southern victuals, while listening to down home bluegrass music performed by The Tims Family Band. The Capitol is a great place for a party since it once housed the "Third House of the Legislature", a reconstruction era whiskey bar, as well as all of North Carolina's state government. The Supreme Court and the State Library moved to a newer facility in the late 1800s and the General Assembly moved to the State Legislative Building in 1963. Today, the governor, lieutenant governor, and their immediate staff, occupy offices on the first floor. The Capitol is located just a few blocks North of the Sheraton. Transportation will be provided for those who don't fancy a stroll. The party starts at 6:30pm and goes until 8:00pm. Buses depart at 5:45pm for new members, and 6:15pm for everyone else. Return trips will be at 7:45pm and 8:15pm.
**New MAC Members should arrive at 6:00pm for a special New Members Reception.

Awards Luncheon
Plan on attending the Awards Luncheon to enjoy an excellent meal and recognize the achievements of our MAC colleagues. Three awards will be presented: The One-Person Library Recognition Award will be presented to a MAC member who leads a library with up to 0.5 paid staff, the MAC Librarian of the Year Award will be presented to a MAC member for outstanding contributions in health sciences librarianship, and the Marguerite Abel Service Recognition Award will be presented to a MAC member for exemplary service to the Chapter during the past year. Following the awards luncheon there will be an invitation to the MAC 2005 meeting in Charlottesville, VA given by Jonathan Lord, LAC Chair and his committee.

Business Meeting
The business meeting will feature an update by our MAC Chair, Beverly Murphy on the status of our organization, old business, new business and the new Electronic Connections Focus of MAC 2004. There will be committee updates, strategic planning updates and recognition of the new MAC 2005 officers including the Chair-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, and the MAC nominee to the MLA Nominating Committee. Please plan to attend the meeting in order to learn about and contribute to the MAC organization. You will have a chance to win a copy of the Keynote Speaker, Rosemary Gibson's book Wall of Silence just by attending the business meeting.

Round Tables Luncheon
Joins us at the always popular Round Tables Luncheon where we will hold discussions of topics of interest to health sciences librarians. Hear about what friends and colleagues are doing in their libraries to meet the challenges of librarianship in the 21st Century. Did they "Soar in 2004?" What were their tools, obstacles, victories, and grand new schemes? Check the Meeting Program for the complete list of topics (also listed below) and schedule your lunch-included flight for exploring the friendly or not so friendly skies of our ever changing profession.
