In support of the mission of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Medical Library Association, the chapter adopts the following goals for 2000/2001:
- MAC will hold an annual meeting at Washington, DC in October 2002.
- The Professional Development Committee will provide affordable continuing-education opportunities at the 2002 annual meeting that will meet the needs of MAC members.
- The MAC officers, liaisons, and standing committees will carry out their respective charges and duties as specified in Policies & Procedures, and undertake other activities at the request of the Executive Board.
- MAC officers, representatives, and committee members will effectively communicate with chapter members using the Newsletter, MACMLA-L mailing list, Website, and other appropriate means, to advance the goals of the chapter.
- The Strategic Planning Task Force will summarize and evaluate the results of the needs assessment survey and draft a strategic plan to help chart future directions for the chapter.
- The Annual Meeting Task Force will evaluate the effectiveness and format of the annual meeting as the chapter's primary means for communication and exchange of ideas and for continuing education.
- The Executive Board will begin preliminary planning for a joint annual meeting with other MLA chapters in 2003.
- The Publications Committee will assess the effectiveness of the MAC Directory, Newsletter, List and Website and propose appropriate changes in frequency, distribution, or content, or suggest alternative means for communication and exchange of ideas.
- The Membership Committee will consider enhancements to the membership database, including secure online access, and seek ways to attract new members and encourage timely membership renewals, including possible online dues payment.
- The Executive Board will evaluate the officer and committee structure of the chapter based on the results of the needs assessment survey.
